The clients purchased a 1200 square foot 3 bed, 2 bath waterfront ranch with plans for a major renovation that included adding levels and outdoor spaces. The completed home has 3 stories with a screened porch, balcony off the master bedroom suite and a 3rd floor deck. Carolyn worked with the builder and homeowner from the beginning to end of construction to select finishes for each room and ensure convenience down to the smallest detail, even including the positioning of electrical outlets.

The homeowners favored a color palette consisting of the soft blues and greens of sea glass accompanied by colors of sand.

Main Floor

The living room has a comfortable sectional and leather ottoman that invite you to sit, relax and put up your feet. The dining room with seating for eight is open to the living room and has access to the screened porch. The kitchen is a cook’s dream wrapped in soft green glass subway tile. The bathroom is a departure from the other colors on this floor and is done in varying shades of sand. Wood finishes used throughout the main floor are reminiscent of driftwood, complementing the blues, greens, and sand colors, and are a nod to the coastal location. The daughter’s room and bath feature a more vibrant color scheme and fun accessories.

Master Suite

The master bedroom is a restful retreat in shades of blue with a custom velvet upholstered bed and a cozy seating area in front of the fireplace. The master bath is a calming space that is light and airy with his and hers vanities, a large soaking tub and custom shower.

Family Room

The family room is a departure from the soothing colors on the floors below with its bright turquoise walls and coral accents. A large, cushiony sectional fills the room.

“We could not be happier with the design work that Carolyn did for us. She was absolutely wonderful to work with and did a tremendous job understanding our tastes and preferences and developing a design and selections to meet our objectives. Our renovation/rebuild of the house spanned a few years, and Carolyn was extremely flexible and saw everything through to the end. Carolyn managed the entire design project, worked with furniture, fixture, window covering and other vendors so that we could be confident that everything went smoothly, and we did not have to manage the details. As we look around the house, we marvel at how beautiful everything looks.”
