Young homeowners with a small child were looking for a youthful take on classic design for their first home. They also wanted to be sure that their furnishings could withstand the wear and tear of the sticky fingers and spills that are part of daily life with a toddler.
The living room features a large tuxedo sofa that is deep enough for a child and parent to nap together and sits in front of a large window with a balloon shade in a stylized overscale floral. CW Interiors chose the furnishings for practicality, so they are child friendly – the sofa is slipcovered in fabric that can be machine washed and air dried and the large stone and wood coffee table functions well for playtime artwork and crafts. The family room also features child friendly surfaces and a large open area with rug for play.
The nursery is cheerful and features a custom painted alphabet circling the room with painted animals mixed in.
Carolyn updated the bathroom with new fixtures, marble tile and heated floors, providing welcome comfort on chilly days and nights.
Carolyn at CW Interiors was extremely creative and attentive to our personal design needs. She patiently ran through options, ideas, and practical considerations, and she spent hours looking at fabrics and samples to help us find exactly what we wanted and needed for beautiful, livable rooms. She mixed colors and patterns in a way that made everything look fresh and unique–like something that could only have been created for our specific life, which they were. I love knowing that no one else has the custom curtains, pillows, and upholstered pieces that she designed or created just for us. Living in the beautiful rooms she has given us is a joy.

Before/After Bathroom
The bathroom was a throwback to the 1970s with avocado green tile and fixtures. CW Interiors updated it with marble tile, beadboard wainscoting and a heated tile floor – a true luxury on those chilly days.
